MS-Australia Index Earning Revision (Mar): Woodside Energy, Commonwealth Bank Of Australia, ANZ

Abstract: We analysed the consensus earnings revision of MS-Australia component stocks for March 2026, estimating the index's 2026E EPS at A$88.36, down 1.5% month-on-month from A$89.66, with 85 stocks revised up versus 26 revised down. The index declined 7.0% in March from 1,801 to 1,674, with the largest negative EPS impacts from BHP (ΔIndex EPS -A$4.0), Commonwealth Bank of Australia (-A$3.0), National Australia Bank (-A$2.1), Westpac (-A$2.0), and ANZ (-A$2.0), predominantly driven by weight drift. Among individual stock EPS revisions, Woodside Energy led upgrades with a 88.7% increase, followed by Micron Technology (+74.0%) and Santos (+61.5%), while Boeing Company saw the steepest downgrade at -98.5%, followed by Northern Star Resources (-15.2%) and Alibaba (-15.2%).
