Abstract: We analyzed TWSE short interest for stocks with market capitalization of at least USD 100m as of April 3rd, with aggregate short interest at USD 32,361m, down 0.7% week-on-week. The TWSE index declined 1.6% over the same period, meaning short interest fell less than the index. Among stocks with the largest weekly increases in short value, CTBC Financial rose USD 68m (+28.7%) and Cathay Financial rose USD 60m (+21.6%), while AU Optronics also added USD 60m (+17.6%). On the covering side, Compeq Manufacturing saw the largest short reduction at USD 62m (-26.0%), followed by WinWay Technology at USD 54m (-28.9%) and Nan Ya Plastics at USD 47m (-51.6%). By absolute short value, Wiwynn led at USD 940m, followed by Asustek Computer at USD 895m and Quanta Computer at USD 874m.
