TWSE Foreign Holding Weekly (Apr 2nd): TSMC, Delta Electronics, MediaTek, Hon Hai Precision

Abstract: We analyzed changes in foreign holdings of TWSE stocks as of April 2nd, with total foreign holdings across stocks with market cap of at least USD100m at USD1,593.4bn, down from USD1,617bn a week prior. We estimate net foreign outflows of USD6,083m for the week, with holdings declining USD24bn (1.5% WoW), broadly in line with the TWSE index decline of 1.6%. The largest weekly outflow was from TSMC (2330 TT) at USD3,330m, followed by Delta Electronics (2308 TT) at USD578m, MediaTek (2454 TT) at USD260m, Hon Hai Precision (2317 TT) at USD204m, and Asia Vital Components (3017 TT) at USD162m. On the inflow side, AU Optronics (2409 TT) led with USD109m, followed by Lotes (3533 TT) at USD69m and Macronix Intl (2337 TT) at USD59m. We also tabulate league tables for top foreign holding changes over 1W, 4W, and 1Y periods, as well as the top stocks held by foreign institutions.
