Abstract: We analyzed southbound Hong Kong Connect flows for the week ending April 2nd, estimating net outflows of USD 262.4 million from Hong Kong stocks by mainland investors, a reversal from inflows of USD 3,080.3 million two weeks prior. The HSCEI returned 0.8% over the same period. Among top inflows, Meituan (3690 HK) led with USD 340 million, followed by BOC (3988 HK) at USD 328 million, Pop Mart Intl (9992 HK) at USD 278 million, Xiaomi (1810 HK) at USD 214 million, and ICBC (1398 HK) at USD 202 million. On the outflow side, SMIC (981 HK) saw the largest selling at USD 251 million, followed by CNOOC (883 HK) at USD 181 million, China Life (2628 HK) at USD 173 million, Alibaba (9988 HK) at USD 171 million, and CK Asset (1113 HK) at USD 126 million. By sector, Health Care, Materials, and Financials led inflows while the Fund category recorded the largest outflows of USD 1,587 million.
