Abstract: We analyzed short interest across Bursa Malaysia stocks with market cap of at least USD 100m as of April 3rd, with aggregate short interest at USD 512m, down from USD 521m a week ago. Short interest decreased 1.8% over the week, outpacing the KLSE index decline of 1.0%. The largest short by value was Mr D I Y Group (USD 43m), followed by Axiata (USD 34m) and Sime Darby Property (USD 24m). The biggest weekly increase in short value was Top Glove, up USD 9.5m (+99.6%), while the biggest decreases were Public Bank (down USD 4.7m, -46.2%), Petronas Chemicals (down USD 4.4m, -27.2%), and Dialog (down USD 2.7m, -21.9%). By ADT multiple, the sharpest weekly short cover relative to trading volume was AME Elite Consortium (down 4.58x ADT) and CTOS Digital (down 1.46x ADT), while Top Glove saw the largest increase at +1.13x ADT.
